If one exam\u00adines close\u00adly the speech that Stephen Harp\u00ader gave to an Amer\u00adi\u00adcan con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive think-tank, before he became our Prime Min\u00adis\u00adter [1], one is struck imme\u00addi\u00adate\u00adly by this: our Prime Min\u00adis\u00adter hates Cana\u00adda and despis\u00ades Cana\u00addi\u00adans. We are, in his own words \u201ca sec\u00adond-rate country\u201d[2]. In state\u00adment after state\u00adment, Mr. Harp\u00ader made it clear that his only loy\u00adal\u00adty is to the rich and pow\u00ader\u00adful in oth\u00ader coun\u00adtries, and not to Cana\u00adda or Cana\u00addi\u00adans. For most of his life, the Rich and Pow\u00ader\u00adful lived in the Unit\u00aded States, and that is where his spir\u00adit has hov\u00adered. The Unit\u00aded States that he wor\u00adships, with the most abject and slav\u00adish ser\u00advil\u00adi\u00adty, is not, of course, the real Unit\u00aded States, the one embod\u00adied in the Dec\u00adla\u00adra\u00adtion of Inde\u00adpen\u00addence, or in its two cen\u00adturies of strug\u00adgle for free\u00addom and jus\u00adtice. No, what Mr. Harp\u00ader wor\u00adships is the cur\u00adrent, King George\u2019s ver\u00adsion of the Unit\u00aded States, the one that has been betrayed, degrad\u00aded, debauched and bank\u00adrupt\u00aded by a gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion of Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive treason.<\/span><\/p>\n

In many doc\u00adu\u00adment\u00aded state\u00adments, Harp\u00ader has made it per\u00adfect\u00adly plain that he has noth\u00ading but con\u00adtempt for his own coun\u00adtry and its peo\u00adple. The sum of them reveal that he has the cring\u00ading men\u00adtal\u00adi\u00adty of the colo\u00adnial, the man who berates his fel\u00adlow coun\u00adtry\u00admen as \u201csec\u00adond-rate\u201d pre\u00adcise\u00adly because he is third-rate, and masks his own inad\u00ade\u00adqua\u00adcy in a dog-like devo\u00adtion to an exter\u00adnal pow\u00ader. Gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtions ago, when this coun\u00adtry was carv\u00ading out its own sense of inde\u00adpen\u00addence, we were plagued by very sim\u00adi\u00adlar peo\u00adple. At that time, the colo\u00adnial men\u00adtal\u00adi\u00adty looked to Moth\u00ader Britain. Thanks to their influ\u00adence, tens of thou\u00adsands of inno\u00adcent Cana\u00addi\u00adan farm boys were ground into ham\u00adburg\u00ader in the trench\u00ades of Flan\u00adders, for no rea\u00adson oth\u00ader than to glo\u00adri\u00adfy the incom\u00adpe\u00adtent and par\u00ada\u00adsitic aris\u00adto\u00adcrats of Europe. Harper\u2019s mind works the same way, except that he will buy his self-esteem by throw\u00ading away the lives of Cana\u00addi\u00adan boys in Afghanistan, and he looks to the pomp and splen\u00addor of the Roy\u00adal Court in Wash\u00ading\u00adton for approval, rather than the Court of St. James. If Amer\u00adi\u00adca fades, who\u00adev\u00ader out\u00adside of Cana\u00adda holds the shini\u00adest crown or throws the most lav\u00adish par\u00adties will win his loyalty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, the man who gave that servile and cow\u00adard\u00adly speech is our elect\u00aded Prime Min\u00adis\u00adter. Thank god he only forms a minor\u00adi\u00adty gov\u00adern\u00adment. Our \u201csec\u00adond-rate\u201d par\u00adlia\u00admen\u00adtary democ\u00adra\u00adcy, which brooks no arro\u00adgant \u201cDeciders\u201d, has not let him get away with just hand\u00ading the coun\u00adtry over to his mas\u00adters. We do, after all, have oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion par\u00adties, which can occa\u00adsion\u00adal\u00adly sum\u00admon the ener\u00adgy to get off their butts and oppose.<\/span><\/p>\n

The image of his idol has become some\u00adwhat tar\u00adnished. Amer\u00adi\u00adcan Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtives have, after a gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion of pow\u00ader, man\u00adaged to destroy the econ\u00ado\u00admy of the world\u2019s wealth\u00adi\u00adest coun\u00adtry, and hand\u00aded over most of its assets to the Com\u00admu\u00adnist Par\u00adty. They have destroyed as much as they could of Amer\u00adi\u00adca\u2019s lib\u00ader\u00adties and enlight\u00adened tra\u00addi\u00adtions. They have per\u00advert\u00aded and cor\u00adrupt\u00aded democ\u00adra\u00adcy, and they have sold out Amer\u00adi\u00adca to for\u00adeign kings, gang\u00adsters, and ter\u00adror\u00adists. In trea\u00adso\u00adnous act after trea\u00adso\u00adnous act (no oth\u00ader term fits the facts), the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan Par\u00adty has done its best to destroy the real Amer\u00adi\u00adca, in the name of a pho\u00adny \u201cAmer\u00adi\u00adca\u201d carved in the image of a Gulf sheik\u00addom. Their loy\u00adal\u00adty, like Harper\u2019s, now lies out\u00adside of their own coun\u00adtry, and their own peo\u00adple. The essence of Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive thought is the wor\u00adship of pow\u00ader, and if pow\u00ader resides else\u00adwhere, then loy\u00adal\u00adty to one\u2019s own peo\u00adple flies out the win\u00addow. Harper\u2019s entrance\u00adment with his per\u00advert\u00aded ver\u00adsion of Amer\u00adi\u00adca is, now that Amer\u00adi\u00adca itself is degrad\u00aded, eas\u00adi\u00adly trans\u00adformed into servi\u00adtude to the inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal aris\u00adtoc\u00adra\u00adcy of wealth and pow\u00ader. That glob\u00adal aris\u00adtoc\u00adra\u00adcy has no home, no peo\u00adple, no nation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rapid col\u00adlapse of the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan econ\u00ado\u00admy has cre\u00adat\u00aded a cri\u00adsis of con\u00adfi\u00addence. Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtives in all places and times have sought to loot, cor\u00adrupt, and destroy economies, and their pre\u00adda\u00adtions are so obvi\u00adous, now, in the Unit\u00aded States, that the peo\u00adple are stunned, dis\u00adcon\u00adtent\u00aded, and start\u00ading to doubt the slick pro\u00adpa\u00adgan\u00adda that has been shout\u00aded at them for decades. Amer\u00adi\u00adcans now face their most impor\u00adtant elec\u00adtion since the Civ\u00adil War, one in which they must decide whether to con\u00adtin\u00adue delud\u00ading them\u00adselves, and con\u00adtin\u00adue march\u00ading down the path to obliv\u00adion, or to face hard facts and redis\u00adcov\u00ader the idea of freedom..<\/span><\/p>\n

We in Cana\u00adda also face an elec\u00adtion, dur\u00ading the same peri\u00adod. In a par\u00adlia\u00admen\u00adtary sys\u00adtem, the gov\u00adern\u00adment in pow\u00ader calls an elec\u00adtion when it feels it has the best chance to win. In Harper\u2019s case, this is a very small win\u00addow. The pre\u00adced\u00ading Lib\u00ader\u00adal gov\u00adern\u00adment hand\u00aded Harp\u00ader an econ\u00ado\u00admy strength\u00adened by a decade of bal\u00adanced bud\u00adgets, sur\u00adplus sav\u00adings, and reduced nation\u00adal debt. With\u00adin a few short years, Harpers\u2019 Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive regime has worked hard to waste that mon\u00adey. Harp\u00ader is deter\u00admined to entan\u00adgle us irrev\u00ado\u00adca\u00adbly in expen\u00adsive and point\u00adless for\u00adeign war\u00adfare, in which we oper\u00adate as mere step\u2019n\u2019fetchits for the White House. Bil\u00adlions upon bil\u00adlions of our cash reserves have already been thrown away \u2015 most\u00adly hand\u00aded out to Afghan drug war\u00adlords, tin-pot dic\u00adta\u00adtors and for\u00adeign arma\u00adments man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adtur\u00aders. Harp\u00ader wants to throw away even more, in an open-end\u00aded com\u00admit\u00adment to eter\u00adnal servi\u00adtude, as colo\u00adnial Gurkhas for the Puk\u00adka Sa\u2019bs. The sur\u00adplus is gone, and we are soon to con\u00adfront a glob\u00adal reces\u00adsion with our accounts emp\u00adty. In the mean\u00adtime, the Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive Par\u00adty\u2019s domes\u00adtic eco\u00adnom\u00adic poli\u00adcies (based on the the\u00ado\u00adry that we must, above all, cater to the car\u00adtel of glob\u00adal oil gang\u00adsters) have erod\u00aded our indus\u00adtri\u00adal base to the bare bones.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oil, you see, lies at the heart of it, just as oil lies at the heart of Repub\u00adli\u00adcan trea\u00adson in Amer\u00adi\u00adca. The glob\u00adal oil indus\u00adtry is pure\u00adly a crea\u00adture of State Pow\u00ader. Nine\u00adty-five per\u00adcent of all the oil in the world is con\u00adtrolled by State-owned enti\u00adties, so it is non\u00adsense to talk about oil as if it was a \u201cmar\u00adket\u201d. Most of the states involved are pure dic\u00adta\u00adtor\u00adships. Armies, prison cells, tor\u00adture cham\u00adbers, and secret police deter\u00admine the price and move\u00adment of oil. Only a small per\u00adcent\u00adage of the world\u2019s oil is pro\u00adduced in democ\u00adra\u00adcies. Even the remain\u00ading five per\u00adcent, the\u00ado\u00adret\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly \u201cpri\u00advate\u201d, is in fact most\u00adly owned by Exxon, and if you exam\u00adine Exxon\u2019s inter\u00adnal struc\u00adture, it is mere\u00adly a hold\u00ading cor\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adtion whose sub\u00adsidiaries are state-owned, or owned by mil\u00adi\u00adtary thugs or hered\u00adi\u00adtary princes. In oth\u00ader words, the glob\u00adal oil indus\u00adtry is Communism.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, as far as Harp\u00ader is con\u00adcerned, these inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal gang\u00adsters are the \u201cright\u00adful\u201d own\u00aders of Canada\u2019s oil, and his eco\u00adnom\u00adic pol\u00adi\u00adcy is sim\u00adply to make sure they get as much prof\u00adit from it as pos\u00adsi\u00adble. They are his boss\u00ades, and it is their inter\u00adests that he serves, not ours. Over and over again, Harp\u00ader has demon\u00adstrat\u00aded that he will serve any pow\u00ader\u00adful enti\u00adty, as long as it is not in this coun\u00adtry, and not us. One of his most recent pol\u00adi\u00adcy ini\u00adtia\u00adtives, dis\u00adguised as con\u00adcern for Canada\u2019s secu\u00adri\u00adty in the arc\u00adtic, is to have the Cana\u00addi\u00adan tax\u00adpay\u00ader foot the bill for for\u00adeign oil com\u00adpa\u00adnies\u2019 explo\u00adration. Their \u201cinvest\u00adment\u201d is to con\u00adsist of col\u00adlect\u00ading the prof\u00adits with\u00adout risk, while we pro\u00advide the grunt work for free.<\/span><\/p>\n

But what is the truth of the mat\u00adter? Who right\u00adful\u00adly owns Canada\u2019s oil? The oil under Cana\u00addi\u00adan soil belongs to us. It belongs to all Cana\u00addi\u00adans, and its exploita\u00adtion and dis\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion should only be con\u00adtrolled by us. The needs of Cana\u00addi\u00adan con\u00adsumers and indus\u00adtry should come first and fore\u00admost, above all oth\u00ader con\u00adcerns, in this dis\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion. It is stu\u00adpid and wrong for us to allow for\u00adeign\u00aders to \u201cown\u201d our oil, and it is mon\u00adstrous fol\u00adly and evil to allow for\u00adeign dic\u00adta\u00adtors, geno\u00adci\u00addal mon\u00adsters, and inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal crim\u00adi\u00adnals to have any\u00adthing to do with it. If we had an ounce of sense, we would imme\u00addi\u00adate\u00adly: 1) ter\u00admi\u00adnate all for\u00adeign claims to own\u00ader\u00adship in Cana\u00addi\u00adan petro\u00adle\u00adum extrac\u00adtion and refine\u00adment, 2) assign oil explo\u00adration, extrac\u00adtion, and trans\u00adporta\u00adtion to pri\u00advate, %100 Cana\u00addi\u00adan-owned, and com\u00adpet\u00adi\u00adtive com\u00adpa\u00adnies, licensed by us, the own\u00aders, and forced to com\u00adpete on a gen\u00aduine free mar\u00adket, 3) require all Cana\u00addi\u00adan pro\u00adduc\u00adtion to meet domes\u00adtic needs first, before export, and 4) make it ille\u00adgal to export unre\u00adfined petro\u00adle\u00adum. Only refined petro\u00adle\u00adum prod\u00aducts should ever leave our ter\u00adri\u00adto\u00adry, and that only after our own needs, present and future, are safe\u00adly met. Com\u00adpa\u00adnies in Cana\u00adda should be forced to com\u00adpete in effi\u00adcien\u00adcy by our leas\u00ading licens\u00ades to many small oper\u00ada\u00adtors, rather than a few large ones, and these should not be allowed to ver\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly inte\u00adgrate. Explo\u00adration, extrac\u00adtion, trans\u00adporta\u00adtion, refin\u00ading, and prod\u00aduct mar\u00adket\u00ading should all be kept sep\u00ada\u00adrate, and com\u00adpelled to real\u00adly com\u00adpete. What we need is not Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive \u201cmar\u00adket the\u00ado\u00adry\u201d, dis\u00adguis\u00ading mer\u00adcan\u00adtilist manip\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtions of state pow\u00ader, but a real free mar\u00adket, which Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtives and Cor\u00adpo\u00adrate Pow\u00ader have always, and always will hate and oppose.<\/span><\/p>\n

Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtives love to yap about \u201cnation\u00adal secu\u00adri\u00adty\u201d, but in the most obvi\u00adous and crit\u00adi\u00adcal area of nation\u00adal secu\u00adri\u00adty, they show no con\u00adcern at all. Noth\u00ading could be more impor\u00adtant to our nation\u00adal secu\u00adri\u00adty than the own\u00ader\u00adship of our own ener\u00adgy sources. It has reached the point that it is easy to tell what is a real coun\u00adtry and what is mere\u00adly a con\u00adquered ter\u00adri\u00adto\u00adry, or colony in dis\u00adguise. Real coun\u00adtries con\u00adtrol their own ener\u00adgy, and their own prop\u00ader\u00adty. Cana\u00adda has more than enough oil and nat\u00adur\u00adal gas for its own needs, albeit much of it expen\u00adsive to extract, but we have fool\u00adish\u00adly hand\u00aded con\u00adtrol of it to for\u00adeign\u00aders, many of whom are dis\u00adgust\u00ading crim\u00adi\u00adnal vermin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Few Cana\u00addi\u00adans have yet expe\u00adri\u00adenced the dis\u00aden\u00adchant\u00adment that Amer\u00adi\u00adcans have with Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive ide\u00ado\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal quack\u00adery. Only those who are los\u00ading indus\u00adtri\u00adal jobs in Ontario and Que\u00adbec are com\u00ading up short, and it will take some time for the long-term dam\u00adage of Con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive poli\u00adcies to affect most Cana\u00addi\u00adans direct\u00adly. Harp\u00ader has a win\u00addow of oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty. If the Cana\u00addi\u00adan econ\u00ado\u00admy can limp along with\u00adout a dra\u00admat\u00adic deba\u00adcle for anoth\u00ader month, then he can still use all the old lies and scams to good effect. The oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion is divid\u00aded between the Lib\u00ader\u00adal, New Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic, Bloc and Green par\u00adties, which, of course, hate each oth\u00ader more than the gov\u00adern\u00ading pow\u00ader, and none of which seems to have any grasp of what would con\u00adsti\u00adtute effec\u00adtive cam\u00adpaign\u00ading. It has been par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar\u00adly frus\u00adtrat\u00ading to wit\u00adness the Lib\u00ader\u00adal Party\u2019s inabil\u00adi\u00adty to go on the offen\u00adsive, and inabil\u00adi\u00adty to grasp what issues mat\u00adter. Harpers\u2019 coterie of Amer\u00adi\u00adcan and Amer\u00adi\u00adcan-trained spin-manip\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtors and strat\u00ade\u00adgy advi\u00adsors have already devised an effec\u00adtive, if entire\u00adly unprin\u00adci\u00adpled cam\u00adpaign strat\u00ade\u00adgy. Just as in the Unit\u00aded States, this is a cru\u00adcial elec\u00adtion, decid\u00ading our des\u00adtiny over the long term. If we retain Harp\u00ader, the results will be as eco\u00adnom\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly and moral\u00adly dis\u00adas\u00adtrous for us as they will be for Amer\u00adi\u00adcans, if they are fool\u00adish enough to elect McCain.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n \u2026 the end why they choose and autho\u00adrize a leg\u00adisla\u00adtive is, that there be laws made, and rules set, as guards and fences to the prop\u00ader\u00adties of all the mem\u00adbers of the soci\u00adety; to lim\u00adit the pow\u00ader, and mod\u00ader\u00adate the domin\u00adion, of every part and mem\u00adber of the soci\u00adety: for since it nev\u00ader can be sup\u00adposed to be the will of the soci\u00adety that the leg\u00adisla\u00adtive should have a pow\u00ader to destroy that which every\u00adone designs to secure by enter\u00ading into soci\u00adety, and for which the peo\u00adple sub\u00admit\u00adted them\u00adselves to leg\u00adis\u00adla\u00adtors of their own mak\u00ading; when\u00adev\u00ader the leg\u00adis\u00adla\u00adtors endeav\u00adour to take away and destroy the prop\u00ader\u00adty of the peo\u00adple, or to reduce them to slav\u00adery under arbi\u00adtrary pow\u00ader, they put them\u00adselves into a state of war with the peo\u00adple, who are there\u00adupon absolved from any fur\u00adther obe\u00addi\u00adence, and are left to the com\u00admon refuge, which God hath pro\u00advid\u00aded for all men, against force and vio\u00adlence. When\u00adso\u00adev\u00ader there\u00adfore the leg\u00adisla\u00adtive shall trans\u00adgress this fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal rule of soci\u00adety; and either by ambi\u00adtion, fear, fol\u00adly, or cor\u00adrup\u00adtion, endeav\u00adour to grasp them\u00adselves, or put into the hands of any oth\u00ader, an absolute pow\u00ader over the lives, lib\u00ader\u00adties, and estates of the peo\u00adple; by this breach of trust they for\u00adfeit the pow\u00ader the peo\u00adple had put into their hands for quite con\u00adtrary ends, and it devolves to the peo\u00adple, who have a right to resume their orig\u00adi\u00adnal lib\u00ader\u00adty, and, by the estab\u00adlish\u00adment of a new leg\u00adisla\u00adtive, (such as they shall think fit) pro\u00advide for their own safe\u00adty and secu\u00adri\u00adty, which is the end for which they are in society.<\/span>
