I lat\u00ader learned from a Russ\u00adki friend that the actor, Anton Yelchin, though him\u00adself a born Russ\u00adian, was giv\u00ading the char\u00adac\u00adter a broad Pol\u00adish accent!&nbsp;I was actu\u00adal\u00adly rather pleased with the film, which man\u00adaged to strike a bal\u00adance between pro\u00advid\u00ading some\u00adthing new and remain\u00ading with\u00adin the Sacred Canon, and though the plot and events were ludi\u00adcrous\u00adly implau\u00adsi\u00adble, the humour and enthu\u00adsi\u00adasm with which the actors por\u00adtrayed their roles made one for\u00adget it.&nbsp;An alter\u00adnate time-line gave license for the devi\u00ada\u00adtions from the back-his\u00adto\u00adry implied in the pre\u00advi\u00adous films.&nbsp;Leonard Nimoy per\u00adformed with remark\u00adable dignity.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I saw the new Trek opus with artist Taral Wayne, in a the\u00adatre filled, for some rea\u00adson, with Rus\u00adsians, who laughed and cheered when\u00adev\u00ader the char\u00adac\u00adter Chekov spoke.
