I was already famil\u00adiar with \u201cMorn\u00ading Dew\u201d, which appears on the enter\u00adtain\u00ading com\u00adpi\u00adla\u00adtion The Music Nev\u00ader Stopped: Roots of the Grate\u00adful Dead. Dob\u00adson\u2019s sopra\u00adno voice is in a class with Sandy Den\u00adny, Mad\u00addy Pri\u00ador, and Rachelle Paiement for that \u201cstrong and sweet\u201d com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtion that best suits folk tunes. Her inter\u00adpre\u00adta\u00adtions of Cana\u00addi\u00adan stan\u00addards are a bit quirky, but very mov\u00ading. Her ver\u00adsions of \u201cFour Strong Winds\u201d and \u201cUn Cana\u00addi\u00aden errant\u201d are par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar\u00adly mov\u00ading. Her gui\u00adtar-play\u00ading is restrained, always sup\u00adport\u00adive of the vocals, but very skilled. This is not her most famous album, so I have a feel\u00ading I have some pleas\u00adant sur\u00adpris\u00ades ahead if I can find oth\u00aders. Despite obvi\u00adous tal\u00adent, she nev\u00ader made it big, but I have a feel\u00ading that more suc\u00adcess\u00adful singers in the folk scene must have respect\u00aded her work.
