It was the kind of clever, enig\u00admat\u00adic, \u201carty\u201d thing that appealed to the sen\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty of the time, then became a chest\u00adnut of short film fes\u00adti\u00advals and film schools, much like Nor\u00adman MacLaren\u2019s films, here in Cana\u00adda. Looked at now, you can see that it has an ele\u00adgance to it, most\u00adly because of the superb per\u00adfor\u00admances of the only two actors, Claus Nis\u00adsen and Majken Algren Nielsen. Nis\u00adsen, appar\u00adent\u00adly, impro\u00advised most of his most effec\u00adtive moments.&nbsp;Watch it online here.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fast for\u00adward to 2003. Leth is in semi-retire\u00adment in Haiti, and his friend\/colleague Lars von Tri\u00ader dares him to make five \u201cremakes\u201d of the influ\u00aden\u00adtial short film. In each case, he will demand \u201cobstruc\u00adtions\u201d \u2014 absurd restric\u00adtions and demands meant to chal\u00adlenge the direc\u00adtor\u2019s inge\u00adnu\u00adity.&nbsp;The film cuts between von Tri\u00ader pre\u00adsent\u00ading his obstruc\u00adtions [\u201cNo sets\u201d; \u201cYou have to film it in some\u00adplace dis\u00adgust\u00ading\u00adly hor\u00adri\u00adble\u201d; \u201cYou have to remake it as a car\u00adtoon\u201d; \u201cYou have to act in it your\u00adself\u201d\u2026], the result\u00ading remakes, and frag\u00adments of the orig\u00adi\u00adnal film.
