I\u2019m not sure why. They just don\u2019t seem to move me like the sym\u00adphonies, sonatas, or quar\u00adtets do. Num\u00adber One in C, Op.15 was actu\u00adal\u00adly com\u00adposed in 1796\u20137, long after Num\u00adber Two (1789). It has a few nice bits, but most of the time it sounds like warmed-over Hay\u00adden. Glen Gould com\u00adposed caden\u00adzas for it that bright\u00aden it up a&nbsp;bit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A paint\u00ading of Beethoven in 1803, sev\u00aden years after com\u00adpos\u00ading the first piano con\u00adcer\u00adto, shows him noth\u00ading like his lat\u00ader snarling, scowl\u00ading image.
