He wrote with an adult sen\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adity, avoid\u00ading the prissi\u00adness and infan\u00adtile repres\u00adsion that were com\u00admon in the field. These sto\u00adries, which were writ\u00adten over sev\u00aderal decades, were col\u00adlected in sev\u00aderal vol\u00adumes, of which this is the first.
