The sto\u00adry is told in par\u00adal\u00adlel with the clas\u00adsi\u00adcal Greek myth of the Labours of Her\u00adcules, and also draws on the native folk\u00adlore of Guam. George pulls you into the sto\u00adry quick\u00adly and treats his char\u00adac\u00adters with sen\u00adsi\u00adtiv\u00adity. I espe\u00adcially respect this kind of work because it requires real research to pull off. Get\u00adting things right, his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcally, psy\u00adcho\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcally, and cul\u00adtur\u00adally, has not been a big goal in the big <span class=\"caps\">SF<\/span> pub\u00adlish\u00ading hous\u00ades, late\u00adly, and this is an encour\u00adag\u00ading excep\u00adtion.
