The main char\u00adac\u00adter, inspec\u00adtor Rebus (ably played by John Han\u00adnah), is rep\u00adre\u00adsent\u00aded a bit younger, and the musi\u00adcal ref\u00ader\u00adences that fill the books are only giv\u00aden an occa\u00adsion\u00adal nod. But watch\u00ading the drama\u00adti\u00adza\u00adtions will not spoil the books for you.
