His sev\u00aden albums will be hard for a Cana\u00addian to accu\u00admu\u00adlate, but it is easy to find the two <em>Best of Haider Ali<\/em> discs, which I have. He is not as much of a light-weight as you might guess. Yes, the arrange\u00adments are pure pop, but he choos\u00ades melodies that have some folk\u00adloric roots, and his per\u00adfor\u00admances are flaw\u00adless. There is also notice\u00adable devel\u00adop\u00adment. He finds his feet with the fourth album, <em>Qarar<\/em>. This con\u00adtained the hit \u201cPurani Jeans\u201d, which I\u2019m told found a cross-gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtional audi\u00adence. After this, the songs became sub\u00adtler, and bet\u00adter craft\u00aded, with touch\u00ades of clas\u00adsi\u00adcal Urdu style embed\u00added in the euro-pop orches\u00adtra\u00adtion.
