I have their first two (and most suc\u00adcess\u00adful) albums, <em>Pent\u00adhouse and Pave\u00adment<\/em> (1981) and <em>The Lux\u00adury Gap<\/em> (1983). From the first album, the sin\u00adgle \u201cWe Don\u2019t Need This Fas\u00adcist Groove Thang\u201d gained some noto\u00adri\u00adety when the <span class=\"caps\">BBC<\/span> banned it from play for polit\u00adi\u00adcal rea\u00adsons. How\u00adever, \u201cGeisha Boys and Tem\u00adple Girls\u201d and \u201cWe\u2019re Going to Live For a Very Long Time\u201c appealed to me more. They achieved greater suc\u00adcess with the sec\u00adond album, from which \u201cTemp\u00adta\u00adtion\u201d and \u201cLet Me Go\u201d were the band\u2019s biggest <span class=\"caps\">UK<\/span> and <span class=\"caps\">US<\/span> hits respec\u00adtive\u00adly.&nbsp;A cur\u00adrent lis\u00adtener will be most tak\u00aden by the prim\u00adi\u00adtive \u201cpro\u00adto-tech\u00adno\u201d ele\u00adments: cheesy syn\u00adthe\u00adsiz\u00aders and drum machines.
