This is ACE<\/span> DOUBLE<\/span> 77785, a reprint with new cov\u00ader art of D\u2011315 pub\u00adlished in 1958. By this time, ACE<\/span> Dou\u00adbles had switched to the \u201ctall\u201d for\u00admat to con\u00adform to stan\u00addard paper\u00adback racks. ACE<\/span> Dou\u00adbles had two books bound togeth\u00ader, each upside down in rela\u00adtion to the oth\u00ader. In this case, both sides were books by Eric Frank Rus\u00adsell (the oth\u00ader one was a short sto\u00adry col\u00adlec\u00adtion called Six Worlds Yon\u00adder<\/em>). Rus\u00adsell was British, but his style was con\u00advinc\u00ading\u00adly Amer\u00adi\u00adcan, and few read\u00aders of Amer\u00adi\u00adcan SF<\/span> mag\u00ada\u00adzines knew this. In some ways, he was sim\u00adi\u00adlar to Clif\u00adford Simak, but with a more satir\u00adic tone. As ear\u00adly as 1941, Rus\u00adsell was crew\u00ading his future space ships with mul\u00adti-racial char\u00adac\u00adters. One of the ear\u00adli\u00adest Sci\u00adence Fic\u00adtion sto\u00adries that had an intense emo\u00adtion\u00adal affect on me was his Dear Dev\u00adil<\/em>, which I read as a small child.<\/p>\n
