Leloup (\u201cThe Wolf\u201d) is a stage name for Jean LeClerc, who was born in Que\u00adbec, but spent his child\u00adhood in Togo and Alge\u00adria, return\u00ading home at age fif\u00adteen. After an appren\u00adtice\u00adship in the Que\u00adbec rock scene, he briefly found some nation\u00adal and inter\u00adna\u00adtional suc\u00adcess with this album, which has songs in both French and Eng\u00adlish. He com\u00adbined rock with rai ele\u00adments long before any\u00adone else was doing this in North Amer\u00adica, and his lyrics are clever. I\u2019m told that a sub\u00adse\u00adquent album,<em> Le D\u00f4me<\/em>, which was not as wide\u00adly dis\u00adtrib\u00aduted, is even bet\u00adter. I haven\u2019t found a copy yet.
