This is the view from the top of Mont Alou­ette, in the Charlevoix region of Québec. My friend Isaac White and I stood on this exact spot, but it was a cold and rainy day, and the land­scape below was a moody spec­ta­cle of mists, beams of bro­ken light, and shadows.
