Re: Prime Minister Trudeau praising Castro
I voted for the present government. I voted for you. I had viscerally despised Harper, and I fell for your party’s hokum about “sunny days” and restoring Canada’s democratic values after the grim repressiveness of the Conservative administration. Naive me.
This riding includes Canada’s principal Gay neighborhood and business community. Among my friends was a man who suffered agonizing tortures in the concentration camps that Castro threw thousands of gays into. He is now, mercifully, dead, and does not have to hear a Canadian Prime Minister praising his torturer. He was under the impression that he had come to a democracy.
Prime Minister Trudeau’s inane, sycophantic blather praising a mass-murderer, slave-holder and exploiter is no different from Trump’s cringing praise of Putin, Ronald Reagan calling the genocidal butcher Rios-Montt “a man of great personal integrity”, or Margaret Thatcher claiming Augusto Pinochet as a “true friend”.
